My name is Dr. Keesha Ewers. In my 30+ years in medicine, I have found that patients who come to see me complain most often of feeling fatigued, frazzled, frumpy, and fat. They suspect they have a hormone imbalance, sometimes they know their adrenals are in trouble, but often don’t know they are either well on their way to developing an autoimmune disease, or they already have one or more autoimmune conditions! Navigating Uncomfortable Emotions.
Do you ever find yourself struggling with depression, or anxiety, or in a need to control everything around you? I’m Dr. Keesha Ewers, and this is something that I help a lot of patients through- helping to navigate the emotional soup of their lives.
I can help you to navigate the emotional soup of your life.
Remember that emotions are a wide spectrum. We have everything from the darkest and gloomiest of moods to the lightest and brightest, and we can’t stay in one forever. Emotions are much like waves that come up from the ocean onto the beach. They’ll come in, and then they’ll recede again. [Read more…] about Navigating Uncomfortable Emotions.
How to Gently Detoxify Your Liver?
Today I want to get started on gently detoxifying your liver. No matter how hard you try to keep your diet and environment pure, you just can’t avoid all the harmful toxins in the air you breathe, the water you drink and the soil your food is grown in. It’s a global problem, and, unfortunately, there’s no escaping it.
Toxic overload can seriously impact your health and make you feel miserable. This occurs when your liver — your body’s primary organ of detoxification — just can’t keep up with the task of eliminating the toxins you’re exposed to, daily.
One easy, gentle way to help the liver out is to use a castor oil pack at night when you are sleeping. Use the instructions I have given you here and for the next 2 weeks place a castor oil pack over your liver and sleep with it. Your liver is in the upper right area of your abdominal area. Part of it hangs out under your last couple of ribs. Place the castor oil pack over that upper right quadrant.
Your Mood is a Sign of Your Food.
Do you find that you’re anxious a lot, to the point what I call the hamster is going on the wheel; you can’t get it to stop with your thoughts, having a hard time going to sleep because of anxiety, even panic attacks?
I’m Dr. Keesha Ewers, and I’ve helped hundreds of people just like you with that problem navigate it and move through it.
I would like to give you tips on how to affect your mood in a way that’s natural. There are a lot of things I do in my medical practice. Neurotransmitters, adrenal glands, and hormones do all kinds of things to help you balance but one thing you can do at home is to look at your food.
Remember that food equals mood always.
Sugar Swaps and a recipe?
I often get asked, “What can I eat in place of sugar?”
I’m Dr. Keesha Ewers, and I’ve helped thousands of people get off sugar.
I am a recovering sugar addict and I have learned how to do this in the trenches. A quick, hot tip for how to replace your favorite sugary foods with something that’s a little healthier:
Use something called luo han, or Monk fruit – great to bake with.
The Ancient Science of Ayurvedic Face Mapping
Ayurveda is the 5,000-year- old sister science of yoga. Translated literally, the word Ayurveda means “science of life.” Thousands of years ago, the ancient sages, or rishis, of India knew we were not all the same person. In fact, they created an exquisite framework for determining our physical, mental, emotional and spiritual uniqueness. These constitutional types, or doshas, are known as vata, pitta and kapha. We are all born with our own unique mix of these three doshas. When they are out of balance, it will show up on your skin, in your body, and through the amount of energy you have.
